This week Robert wanted to make s'mores. I have no idea why he is obsessed with making s'mores, but if that's what he wants to do then that's what we'll do. I picked Robert up around 4:30 on Saturday. I brought over some bell peppers, some jalapeno peppers, and some green and red tomatoes. Most of the tomatoes were green, but fried green ones are pretty good. Tina's mom was all for them and we talked about the best way to fry them up. Before leaving we had to finish the wall that we didn't get to complete the last time we got together. Once that was completed, we headed towards Edwardsville. On the way we stopped at the Heepke farm to pick up my boat. While Robert thought my boat was cool, he really liked the 32 foot black and red Monterey best. I have to agree it's a darn fine boat; and a darn expensive one too. We headed to the house after hitching up the boat. Once there we started a fire in the chiminea. While that got good and heated up, I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Robert helped me cook french fries. We ate a bunch of burgers and dogs, but Robert made sure he had enough room for s'mores. We whittled some sticks down, then showed him how to melt the marshmallows without burning them too much. Nancy ate 1 1/2 s'mores. Robert ate 2 1/2 s'mores. I ate 1 s'more without chocolate. After eating, Robert and I went to blockbuster hoping to find Monster House. It's apparently not on DVD so we chose the first Harry Potter movie instead. We didn't get to finish it before I had to take Robert home. Tina's boyfriend Al (I'm assuming it's her boyfriend) thanked me for bringing over the green tomatoes. He apparently likes them too.
