by Keith Olbermann
I like Keith Olbermann and I really should watch his show Countdown more often. I've caught it on occasion and every time I tell myself to make sure to tune in tomorrow. I seldom do which is sad because I've seen a couple of his rants on the Bush Administration and the Iraq War and they've been brutally truthful. Keith pulls no punches and has carved out a niche for himself by telling it like it is and pointing out the hypocrisy of the world.
Besides the daily rant(s) he delivers, he also delights us with his worst person in the world awards. To be accurate, it's actually the three worst people in the world. This book is a rehash of the worst from the last year and a half or so of his show. While it is an amusing read, it's not much more than a bathroom book. Hey, if you're going to be taking a crap, you should probably read about crapheads. The usual suspects show up: Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, etc. That's not to say that he only digs on conservatives because he doesn't. Keith definitely goes to the proverbial conservative well a little too much, but I really can't blame him for that. It is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel. Bill O'Reilly is in here almost every day, followed closely by any Fox 'newscaster' of the day, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter. He does manage to throw in a few average joes, or should I say 'of less than' average intelligence joes. These are the kind of people that wind up as either a Darwin award runner up (remember you can't win if you don't die) or as one of Nancy's clients.
If you have a couple of hours to kill I recommend it, but just don't expect too much.
