I was listening to Portishead's Dummy yesterday. (Hard to believe this CD is 13 years old. Not hard to believe that it still sounds as fresh as it did then.) Anyway, I wondered what the weird instrument sound on the song Mysterons is. Obviously it's a theremin, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this. Turns out there's a whole web site dedicated to this oddly weird musical instrument. I guess if there's a whole web site dedicated to East German granny porn I shouldn't be surprised that there's a market for the comparatively tame theremin.
