... what the hell is going on in your head?

... which is why I haven't posted in a couple of days. I spent the first part of this week in our Columbia, MD office working with a Microsoft consultant on what is referred to as Project REAL. I'm sure if you actually clicked on the link and read more than three sentences you'd think it was Greek. Turns out I know Greek.
I don't know what I could write about the actual work that was done without maybe getting in trouble for releasing proprietary information. In basic terms we are building a database construct called a cube that will allow our Finance (and Underwriting) department to more closely measure their projected costs against the actual services being used in the business. Theoretically we could do it in real time, although we won't be. I know this sounds very boring, but the reality is that there are most likely few Healthcare companies that can do anything like this. There are probably very few companies that are doing this.
My team will be building all sorts of web stuff that allows us to interrogate this and other cubes and we'll display them in unique ways like these kick ass graphing engines: Rich Charts, Fusion Charts, and Corda. It probably still sounds boring to you.
