Caribbean Cruise - Day 8

Despite the lack of sleep, we were up early today. Nancy went to yoga while I worked on other things. When she came back, we headed to the Windjammer for breakfast. I got pretty much the same thing I've gotten every other time we've eaten breakfast here. After we eat we head back to the room to put on swim trunks and grab a pool side lounge chair. When we headed downstairs to put on the trunks the sun was out, but when we got back up to the pool deck it had turned cloudy and started raining. We've been on this thing for a week and the only day it's been sunny was the day we were in St. Martin. Fortunately thirty minutes later the sun starts to come out and by the time we reach Nassau four hours later, the sun is completely out with very little cloud cover. Unfortunately by this time I've realized that I didn't have enough sunscreen on. My stomach is crispy and smells like burning rubber and when I head down to the room to inspect, the damage is indeed already done. My belly is on fire and my upper thighs are a little roasted too. I take a shower to wash all the sunscreen off and even the cold water feels like liquid fire. I slather on lotion but I know by now I've got three days of hurt and a week of peel coming up. Once again I ruin my sleep schedule and nap, and once again Nancy is waking me up at 5:00 to start getting ready for dinner. We head down a little early to buy some pictures of the trip. In most of them I have a goofy look on my face (no obvious comments about this please), but there are a couple that turn out OK.

For dinner I had:
Shrimp Cocktail
Caesar Salad
NY Strip Steak
Key Lime Pie
Coffee
Red Zinfandel

We return to our room after dinner and find out that we can't use the express luggage checkout service we signed up for earlier in the week because I'm on the no-fly list. We also hear on the news that Australian terrorist David Hicks is convicted, so maybe at least my uncle David Hicks will no longer have to deal with the same crap I have to deal with. Since we aren't using the express service there's no need to leave as early as we thought we were going to have to. I head downstairs and swap our early luggage tags for some later ones.

Nancy and I start the packing ceremony and fill out the customs forms. After packing, Parker and I head up to the video game room to burn the last of our video credits on more Galaga. I reach level 16 and around 160,000 points which I thought was pretty good. Once the credits are gone we head back to our rooms. I have trouble sleeping because my sunburn hurts so bad.
