Happy Birthday Dick Dale

Dick Dale turns 70 years old. Seems odd to hear a 70 year old play surf rock, but then again Dick Dale is an original. Yes, he's still touring. Chicago and Kansas City are the closest places to catch him this year.

I could believe it. Les Paul is in his 80s and although he's not touring, he still kicks ass once a week in NYC. But then again, Dick's music sucks.

I'll agree that Dick Dale's music has gone to a watery grave, but that doesn't make him any less original. Dick Dale played guitar in ways that Les Paul never even thought a guitar could be played.
