Belle Of The Night Update
As of an hour ago, the Belle of the Night was still there. For the most part it looked to be in pretty much the same shape as this morning. It did appear that the walkway was more submerged, but I was on the other side of the road. It could just be that the river is still rising, which I suspect it still is. The volume of drift was still significant, but not as much as yesterday.

I read or heard somewhere that they tied it down. That will perhaps keep it from going downstream, but it won't solve the problems they'll have when the water goes down.

Except for quick action, another moored barge might have broken free in the Mississippi River in far north St. Louis, below the confluence with the Missouri. A Coast Guard spokesman said the bow chain broke on the Belle of the Night, an old entertainment barge under renovation, about 9 a.m. Friday. Other mooring lines held, and towboats kept the Belle in place until it could be secured, the spokesman said.
