Sometimes I like to hear the phrase 'six run sixth innning'. Today was not one of those days. Louisville, who State will play next, can really hit the ball well so it looks like it might be two and out for the Bulldogs. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

During tonights broadcast of the game on the deuce, the following stats were brought up on the screen. For those of you that think Mississippi State University is an oxymoron not an institution of higher learning, I taunt you from afar.

• Jet Butler has the highest cumulative GPA of all players in the CWS (4.0).
• Seven Mississippi State players finished the spring semester with 4.0 GPA's.
• Mississippi State led all teams in the CWS with a team GPA of 3.16.
