The Severed Cortex

Last week the garbageman failed to empty a garbage can completely. With the recent heat wave, you can imagine the smell. It was already really bad when we set it out last week too. This week it's somewhat akin to a rotting corpse. So, when I went to move it out to the curb last night I found out three important things.

1. The garbage can has a hole in the bottom of it
2. The remains of last week's leftover garbage have liquefied
3. Flies have laid eggs

Ah, man. I just washed the driveway down yesterday and now I've released nature's pudding all over it. So, I went around to the back of the house to get the garden hose out. My neighbor had some sort of curious piece of machinery on the back patio. I'm not really sure what it is although from a distance it appears to be a pump mounted on a frame. That's just a best guess though. He's definitely got something planned and I can't wait to find out what it is.
