Holy freakin' crap!! Pickled pigs lips?! I didn't even know pigs had lips, although I guess I shouldn't just assume they meant mouth lips.
I often wonder how something like this ends up as a food. I'm sure the Brits or the Scots have something to do with it since they're known to slaughter an animal, throw away all the good parts and just eat the entrails. Lips, in my mind, fall into the entrails category. Somewhere back in the annals of food history this thought must have occurred to someone, "These pig lips taste like pig ass. I bet they'd taste a hell of lot better if they were pickled". And so, pickled pig lips were born.
I've often said that you could beer batter and deep fry a dog turd and it would taste good. I guess some feel that way about pickled products.
