... what the hell is going on in your head?

OK, honestly I wanted to see Transformers. But, unfortunately for me, Robert's mom had taken them out of town to stay with friends and they had already seen it. They said it was pretty cool.
Actually, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to pick Robert up. I'm sometimes bad about calling at the last minute, but it's never really been too much of a problem. Usually they call me back within a couple of hours. This time I didn't hear from them until about a 1/2 hour before I was hoping to pick Robert up. They just got back in town which led to this conversation which I found hilarious.

Me: Listen Tina, if you guys are tired from all that traveling, I can come pick Robert up later in the week.
Tina: Let me ask. Robert do you want Mr. Drew to pick you up? (2 seconds later) That was a stupid question.
Me: I'll see you in a 1/2 hour.

Robert may have been excited to see me but he wasn't all that thrilled about seeing a movie. We had talked about fishing the week before and I think he had his heart set on it. But, I didn't have time to go fishing and it was too late to try to put it altogether even if I did have time. So, I gave him the choice of Evan Almighty, Harry Potter, or Ratatouille. Obviously he picked Harry Potter.

All was well until the final climactic scene when Robert couldn't stand it any more. He had to go to the bathroom. If this were 1974, I would have let him go by himself. In 2007, you can't do that, even in a public place like a movie theater. So, I got up with him. We managed to only miss a small portion of the final action scene so I shouldn't complain.
I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books and I've only seen bits and pieces of the other Potter movies, but I was able to figure out that Dumbledore was the good guy and Voldemort is the bad guy without too much trouble. In between, the story moved without much reliance on prior book/movie knowledge. All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good movie, although at 2 hours and 15 minutes it is a bit long for kids.

Afterwards we picked up Nancy and grabbed some Steak and Shake burgers. I thought they were pretty tasty especially with a vanilla malt. It was very malty. Plus, I like their french fries the best even if Nancy thinks they're too small and require too much work.

I'm with Nancy. Steak and Shake fries are not at all user friendly. Get the onion rings instead.
