The Severed Cortex

Apparently there are others who are interested in the fate of the Belle Of The Night. One such person is Jennifer B., who stumbled across my blog looking for information on the old tub and posted a comment some months ago asking what I knew about it. A couple of days ago she sent me this picture, which I appreciate immensely. (Her original pic is much better ... I had to scale it down to fit it in the blog ... here's the original full size)

As you can see, three things jump out at you.

1. The Belle Of The Night is no longer there
2. There is a fire
3. I was mistaken when I said the old walkway was gone when you can clearly see it here.

Since that time, the walkway has been pulled up from the bank, albeit in sections. It appears that it was broken into three sections which are probably not salvagable anymore. If anyone knows any more about the Belle, please e-mail me or better yet post a comment so that others who are interested can be updated on the status.
