Casual Day is a uniquely new(er) experience in the workplace. I don't know who said you had to dress up to go to work, but clearly those days are starting to wane. At our work, coupons are sold as promotions to raise money, given away for holidays, or just given away as a thank you. The rule is you're supposed to ask your supervisor first if you can use one, but no one has ever asked me. Instead, they just show up with jeans on and hope that I don't ask for a coupon.
Right now there seems to be a rash of coupons being sold, bought, bartered due to a variety of reasons, some of which are good. We proposed some new coupons, but I bet that upper management will not approve them even if we promised not to wear them during site visit days.
