He was never quite the same after the stroke since he lost most of the feeling in his left hand, but he re-trained himself and still managed to play better than 90% of all pianists. If anything, he played stronger with his right hand to make up for it. There aren't too many jazz giants like Oscar Peterson left today and the world is a sadder place without him.
