I guess I stand corrected when I bitched about the mainstream media because they only show us the 'rock star' candidates. Chuck Hagel, Michael Bloomberg, Sam Nunn, William Cohen, and Gary Hart don't even have the makings of a decent polka band. Which, I suppose, is why CNN feels the need to dress the story up with the Bloomberg denials instead of pitching it as a story about a pissed off centrists gathering. Hard to get excited about centrists what with all their common sense and undying need to be pragmatic so Bloomberg becomes lipstick for said pig.
All common sense aside, the reality is that if Bloomberg decides to get in the race, all bets are off. He can buy every last scrap of media time without having to raise a dollar. And that's a scary thought.
