Nancy's aunt and uncle are in town for a conference and we took them out to eat at Sqwires in Lafayette Square last night. The food was very good and we managed to get out of there for $200 for the four of us. That includes a bottle of wine too.
I had the roasted red pepper crab bisque which was fantastic. And as long as I was on the 'theme', I had the bouillabaisse which was very good too. I skipped the dessert and had just coffee instead, but for the others, bread pudding was the dessert of choice.
We had a lovely time talking and had they been busy I'm sure they would have forced us to leave, but since there was a very light crowd we wound up talking until after 10:00. Robert (Nancy's uncle) is one of the few people in the Western Hemisphere who has traveled inside Iran, even as recently as two years ago, and he showed me a presentation he is giving next month about his experiences inside the country. I also fixed some of his powerpoint slides.
