Yard Work

Life moves at a blurry pace and when you've killed off as many brain cells as I have you're never really sure where things have fallen, chronologically speaking. This may have occurred before the whole band concert thing, or perhaps somewhere in the middle of the two concerts. I'm not really sure.

What I am sure of is that we needed to get some yard work done. Last year it worked out perfect to have Robert help us and at the same time teach him the concept of hard work equals get paid. It was an easy call to try it again. I picked him up in the morning and on the way home picked up a load of mulch. Nancy had already gone to the nurseries the day before and had mortgaged the farm buying flowers, so she was ready to put him to work planting. They managed to plant something in every pot we had on hand, so they went to Lowe's and bought more pots. Robert picked out a nice flower stand that I have to say looks very nice on the front porch. Meanwhile, I moved the truckload of mulch and Robert helped spread it around in between trips to the box store and planting. I drove up and got another truckload of mulch and when I returned Robert asked if he could help shovel. And after shoveling he asked if there was more work he could help with. As you can imagine, I was excited to hear him ask for more work.

By mid-afternoon we were pretty much caught up on what we wanted to do, yard wise that is. We still had some models to finish from a couple weeks ago though. We spent the rest of the afternoon putting the finishing touches on them. And we might have played a couple games of Guitar Hero, some of which I played along with on the real guitar.

Robert's Cadillac

Roberts Caddy

Drew's Model Rocket

Super Rocket Missile

Hopefully we get a chance to fire off the model rocket in the next couple of weeks.
