For two days now my vertigo has been mild. It hasn't gone away completely, and it may just be that I'm becoming acclimated to it, but it certainly appears to have diminished significantly. I hate the thought of antibiotics. To me they may fix a short term problem, but they eventually weaken the immune system. But, it does appear that this may have been the fix for me. Let's just say that since I started on them last Friday, the vertigo has lessened each day. Yesterday was the last day of the antibiotics so we'll see where I am tomorrow. It's sort of odd for me to think that this whole episode might have been bacterial related but it looks like it might be at this point.
But, lest we all think I'm back to (relative) normal, I did have an MRI this morning. Everyone told me they were freaked out by the tube, but it didn't bother me at all. The technician gave me earplugs and put pillows alongside my head, in case I wanted to sleep she said. How anyone could actually sleep through the noise of the buzzing and whirring and clicking I'll have no idea. It was a unique experience and although it only took twenty minutes or so, I was ready for it to be over.
The funny part was the technician said she had to give me an IV. I said that was fine as long as she didn't mind me, oh I don't know, totally freaking out. I explained to her my unwillingness to accept the things that junkies take for granted and she was totally good with not doing the IV. It all worked out fine.
I actually drove a vehicle this evening. It was amazing.
