Considering they were playing the defending national champions in arguably the most home field advantageous stadium in the country, a ten point defeat is not too bad. Call it a moral victory. I'm sure LSU was looking past State, especially since they tattooed them last year in Starkville, but State looked ready to play. I was very glad to see Sly Croom start Tyson Lee over the horribly ineffective Wesley Carroll. That guy needed the plug pulled on him. Lee played solid, showed good field discipline, and made few mistakes in front of a very hostile crowd. Perhaps that bodes well for next week. With Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and an Ole Miss team that knocked off #4 Florida this week left in the schedule, the chances of a bowl bid are only two-fold; slim and remote. At this point I'll settle for 5-7.
